Our story
We are two siblings, Alex and Elena, who grew up in the village of Perivoli in Corfu.
Our childhood unfolded between these two homes. The upper house, built in the 1970s, is where we lived as a family. It holds the everyday rhythms of our early life, simple, familiar, and deeply rooted. Just below it sits the old carpenter’s house, a place with a much longer history. It has been in our family for generations and once belonged to our ancestors, who were craftsmen, carpenters and builders, people whose work helped shape the village itself.
There is a quiet continuity between the two houses. One carries our personal memories, the other reflects a lineage of making, repairing, and building that extends far beyond us.
In our twenties, we both moved away from Greece, following our own paths. Yet Corfu, and especially Perivoli, has always remained home.
Over the years, we felt a growing sadness seeing the houses stand unused. They had been part of our family for so long, and it felt important that they were lived in again, cared for, and appreciated. That is what led us to renovate them, not only for ourselves, but to open them up as holiday homes in Corfu for others to experience and enjoy.
When we began the renovation, our intention was not to transform the houses into something unrecognisable, but to preserve what was already there. We approached the process with respect for their history and for the character of the village, maintaining original features wherever possible and restoring them with care, attention, and high-quality materials. The result is a balance between tradition and comfort, offering a more considered kind of stay in Corfu.
This project became a way of reconnecting with where we come from, while creating a space that others can share.
These homes carry our family’s story, but they are also part of a wider place, shaped by time, craft, and community.
We now offer them as places to stay in Perivoli, Corfu, for those looking for something more personal than a typical holiday rental.
We hope that when you stay here, you feel not only comfortable, but connected, to the houses, to the village, and to the slower rhythm of life in Corfu.
